Before you can truly appreciate this album you have to ÛÛ°
understand the history behind it. First lets start with the ÛÛ
mouthpiece of 'Lord Fire' which is none other than the emcee ÛÛ
known as Theory Hazit, from Ohio hiphop crew Scribbling ÛÛ
Idiots. Now Theo has been making beats himself for years but ÛÛ
most notably he is a refreshing emcee with a gift for ÛÛ
writing thought-provoking and highly enjoyable MUSIC. ÛÛ
ÛÛ
Its one thing for an artist to simply take a boom-bap format ÛÛ
and insert their 16 bar verse followed by an 8 bar chorus ÛÛ
and repeat until a desired track length is reached... and ÛÛ
then hoist it onto the masses for consumption. However, what ÛÛ
this artist makes is justly regarded as "rare" among his ÛÛ
peers. Theory although rooted in the fundamentals of hip-hop ÛÛ
(dejaying, emceeing, beat producing, etc.) is also a ÛÛ
linguist and a mic personality. ÛÛ
ÛÛ
Theo's word play is often sprawling with cunning word play ÛÛ
along side the occasional singy-song raps injected with puns ÛÛ
and jabs. Those elements on one accord are intellectually ÛÛ
formatted to make listening to his points both easy and ÛÛ
enjoyable. Theo's style is a high contrast from other ÛÛ
artists who's dumbed down lyrics fall short of a point (or ÛÛ
at least the impact of one). He also contrasts those who's ÛÛ
tracks seam to fall into place with the standard formatting ÛÛ
of what is expected from a hip-hop song. This is why I ÛÛ
believe Theory Hazit is quickly arising among a rare breed ÛÛ
of emcee and why he is getting allot of new found attention ÛÛ
among hip-hop purists... both Christian and general market ÛÛ
alike. A feat that few have been able to obtain. To list a ÛÛ
few I would include Braille, Othello, Surreal, The Remnant, ÛÛ
4th Avenue Jones, Mars ill, Tunnel Rats, LMNO, The Breax, ÛÛ
Sev Static, Dirt, etc... Now enters in Vintage. An upcoming ÛÛ
Virginia based producer with an ear for the golden era sound ÛÛ
where DJ Premier beats where law and crate diggers scoured ÛÛ
for breaks in dusty basements of record stores like gold ÛÛ
miners looking for treasure. Organic drum laden bass lines ÛÛ
that amplified crispy guitar licks and abstract sounds of Mo ÛÛ
Town and Jazz... Pumped loud in the car until you feel your ÛÛ
chest tighten up and your heart rate race... finding your ÛÛ
arms uncontrollably bouncing in the air to the rhythm. Yup ÛÛ
that about sums up the production on 'Lord Fire'. ÛÛ

Vintage who's production credits include the single "I Just ÛÛ
Wanna Go Home" off Theory Hazit's Hip Hip IS Music release ÛÛ
"Extra Credit" handles all the production on 'Lord Fire'. ÛÛ
This is proving the single's strength goes beyond a one- ÛÛ
track wonder. Vintage actually has several tracks in ÛÛ
rotation among some of the latest solid releases... some of ÛÛ
which include: Surreal "Permanent Ink" featuring Braille and ÛÛ
Sivion... Surreal "The Proof" featuring Absalom... ÛÛ
Scribbling Idiots "Almost Famous"... Also off the Theory ÛÛ
Hazit "Extra Credit" album Vintage production can be found ÛÛ
on "Decisions" featuring Sivion and Holmskillit and "Out ÛÛ
With A Bang" featuring Poems. If you are familiar with any ÛÛ
of these gems then your high expectations are already ÛÛ

As per Hazit's myspace page and YouTube home shot ÛÛ
promotional videos... the project came together as producer ÛÛ
Vintage began sending Theory Hazit beats to get his ÛÛ
feedback. Soon Theo had a nice collection of beats that he ÛÛ
became inspired to put together what he at the time thought ÛÛ
would become a free download in mixtape fashion of Vintage ÛÛ
beats featuring Theory Hazit vocals. After letting a few of ÛÛ
his peers hear the results of the collab's they convinced ÛÛ
Theo that this was meant for the World to hear and should ÛÛ
definitely be treated like an official and legit release. So ÛÛ
as the story went Theory and Vintage continued to invest ÛÛ
their time in the project and work together to complete the ÛÛ
tracks and put in work to do it right. Later... the result ÛÛ
would be 17 songs worthy of a "Classic" tag alongside an A+ ÛÛ
effort that everyone should consider a staple in their 2008 ÛÛ
collection of hot new releases. ÛÛ
ÛÛ
Quite possibly the most intriguing point that Theory ÛÛ
mentioned in his home recorded promotional videos was that ÛÛ
he kept in tact the names Vintage called each beat when he ÛÛ
originally sent them. Typically a song isn't named until it ÛÛ
is complete and usually derived from the lyrics. In this ÛÛ
case however, Theory was inspired not only by the beat ÛÛ
itself but by their name given by its producer. This makes ÛÛ
for some unique titles... case in point "Soph Sissy". Not a ÛÛ
typical way an album comes together to say the least but it ÛÛ
was striking to me and something that stuck in my head when ÛÛ
listening to the songs. ÛÛ

No stranger to bad luck and hardships, North Carolina native ÛÛ
Supastition has managed to use those ÛÛ
setbacks as inspiration to create his own vibe of ÛÛ
emotionally-driven hip hop. After brief yet ÛÛ
unsuccessful stints in 2002 with indie label Freshchest ÛÛ
Records as well as Rasco’s Pockets Linted ÛÛ
Entertainment, Supastition’s turning point came when his ÛÛ
collaboration with producer Nicolay was ÛÛ
hand-selected by ?uestlove out of over 5,000 contestants to ÛÛ
appear on the Okayplayer Records ÛÛ
compilation. His song entitled “The Williams” received ÛÛ
critical praise as one of the standout tracks on ÛÛ
the True Notes Vol. 1 album and hip hop heads worldwide ÛÛ
began noticing Supa and his knack for making ÛÛ
honest music that the average person could relate to. ÛÛ
After interest from several labels, Supastition signed with ÛÛ
indie label Soulspazm Records and released ÛÛ
his follow-up “The Deadline” EP which served as a ÛÛ

In 1994, Mos Def along with his younger brother, DCQ, and
his younger sister, Ces, formed the group Urban Thermo Dynamics.
UTD first graced the scene with the underground classic track
"My Kung Fu". They soon thereafter followed up with the now
classic "Manifest Destiny" single, which gave them notoriety among
the wider hip-hop masses. Both singles where to lead up to the
release of the groups debut album, Manifest Destiny. Though the
group was signed to Payday Records, the album never saw an
official release.

Soon after the group was released from Payday, Mos Def and DCQ
formed Medina Green and released the Rawkus Records underground
mega-hit "Crosstown Beef." Later, Mos Def recorded with Talib Kweli
as Black Star, which took his underground notoriety to soaring heights.
Mos Def’s commercial popularity spawned with his hit gold debut
solo album, Black on Both Sides.

Now, commercially available for the first time, is the UTD Manifest
Destiny album via Illson Media (imprint founded by DCQ). This hip-hop
classic is filled with dark and melodic bass heavy production from
Diamond D. and Showbiz. The album features the timeless songs:
"My Kung Fu", "Manifest Destiny", "Moon In Cancer", and "Like That."
This album is a must have for all fans of classic and quality hip-hop.

In conjunction with the release of the UTD album, Illson Media is
re-releasing the Medina Green U Know The Flex Mixtape Vol. 1,
